How the SAT test is scored?
Students earn 1 point for each correct answer, lose 1/4 point for each incorrect answer (except on the student-produced response math questions), and neither lose nor gain points for each omitted answer.
The raw score is then converted into a scaled score of 200 to 800 scale. The conversion process allows scorers to correct for minor variations in the difficulty of different test so that the same level of ability should lead to the same scaled score on any test.
